Data reviewed through 16 August 2026

Scope Curated public-interest dataset of major publicly reported cyberattacks and data breaches affecting French public institutions and companies in 2025 and 2026. It is not a complete register. Unknown or disputed victim counts are not converted into confirmed statistics.

Methodology

How to read this dossier

A few rules sit under every page, so a missing figure never turns into a fake total.

  • A missing count is not zero

If a record has no published figure, it is never shown as 0, never added into a total, and never plotted on a chart.

  • A contested figure stays a claim

When the breach is real but the headline number is contested, that claim stays in the text. It does not enter a chart or a sum.

  • The source is the source

No attacker is named unless the cited disclosure supports it. Each record links out to that disclosure.

Scope

Curated public-interest dataset of major publicly reported cyberattacks and data breaches affecting French public institutions and companies in 2025 and 2026. It is not a complete register. Unknown or disputed victim counts are not converted into confirmed statistics.

Prefer official disclosures. Keep unknown values as null. Keep disputed attacker claims in labels or notes rather than numeric fields used for charts. Do not attribute attackers unless public evidence supports the attribution.
